Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly qualified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Health Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a rewarding career in a stable and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

-Possess the ability to diagnose, treat and manage patients with mental health and emotional disorders.

-Participate in daily interdisciplinary team meetings for the management of acutely ill patients residing in the evaluation and stabilization unit or program.

-Excellent experience prescribing and monitoring mental health medications.

-Conduct follow up mental health visits in accordance with the Mass Department of Mental Health (DMH) Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR) as related to both acutely ill and chronically ill, stable individuals.

-Develops and monitors mental health treatment plans that are tailored to the patient with the ability to tweak treatment options where indicated.

-Works closely with DMH agents for transitional care for individuals with serious mental illness with a common goal of continuity of care once in the community.

-Possess knowledge for ordering, performing and interpreting lab tests and other diagnostic studies relating to mental health and emotional disorders.

-Provide clinical supervision to colleagues and other clinical staff.

-Provide individual and group education to individuals and clinical staff.

Work Schedule:

Current shift:
Monday-Friday with one Saturday per month. Must be able to work any shift as directed.
