Re-Entry Assistant WMass Regional Women’s Correctional Center & Worcester

At the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of incarcerated individuals, helping them to build the skills necessary for a successful release to the community. As a Reentry Assistant, you will carry a specialized caseload of inmates preparing to enter the community.

You will be responsible for providing intensive case management by maintaining case files and documentation. Duties include conducting weekly visits to each client assigned, providing support and accountability, relationship building, working with families, and collaborating with other community service providers. The Reentry Assistant supervises inmates during classroom exercises or during one-to-one meetings.

2-3 days in Hampden County plus 2-3 days in Worcester County

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.

-4:00 p.m.; must be able to work any shift as directed

• Maintain care and custody of the justice-involved population during programming provided.
• Establish and maintain rapport with inmates who are preparing to enter the community.
• Conduct inmate programming on psycho-educational topics.
• Assess and meet with inmates preparing to reenter the community to address individual needs and discuss intake process; make necessary referrals to community agencies.
• Serve as a liaison with substance use programs and shelters.
