About the Role

The Support Staff position provides administrative support for the Mental Health Emergency Center (MHEC), with data entry serving as the primary responsibility of the position. This role is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining records while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the facility. Additional duties include answering a multiline phone system, processing records requests, maintaining office supplies and equipment, processing invoices, coordinating mail, and serving as the facility's designated Safety Officer.

This position interacts daily with the public, law enforcement, consumers, and Burke staff and reports directly to the Crisis Program Director.

What You'll Do
  • Accurately enter and maintain client and program data in Burke's electronic systems.
  • Review data for accuracy and completeness before entering it into Burke's systems.
  • Answer and direct calls using a multiline telephone system.
  • Greeting and assisting consumers, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process records requests while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Order, inventory, and maintain office and clinical supplies to ensure essential materials are available.
  • Coordinate maintenance of facility equipment and vehicles.
  • Process invoices and maintain purchasing records.
  • Organize and maintain monthly call records and client satisfaction surveys.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Serve as a backup for other MHEC support staff as needed.
  • Serve as the designated Safety Officer for the Mental Health Emergency Center.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to support the daily operations of the Mental Health Emergency Center.
What You Need

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
  • One (1) consecutive year of responsible clerical experience with strong receptionist skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong data entry, communication, customer service, and telephone skills.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
  • Ability to complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training.

Preferred

  • Two (2) or more consecutive years of receptionist or office experience.
  • Experience operating a multiline telephone system.
  • Experience working in a mental health or medical setting.
  • Office management experience.
Work Schedule
  • Monday
    - Friday
  • 8:00 a.m.

    - 5:00 p.m.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively while performing receptionist and telephone duties.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds while handling files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Fine motor skills necessary for accurate data entry, typing, and office operating equipment.
