Primary Purpose
The Student Success Coordinator will provide daily assistance to students enrolled in the virtual program through consistent phone communication and support as needed. Additionally, this role may include providing instructional support to students attending in-person classes. The position is responsible for monitoring student attendance and building strong partnerships with students and parents to promote consistent attendance and foster academic growth for all learners at the Hackney Learning Center.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university required
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret and analyze data
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage classroom behavior
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of parents, students, and staff
Experience:
- Two years of classroom teaching experience preferred
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, students, and faculty regarding attendance-related inquiries.
- Communicate with parents daily to verify and document student absences in accordance with school policies.
- Monitor attendance patterns and promptly report concerns or irregularities to the designated administrator.
- Maintain accurate and timely attendance records in the student information system.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address attendance challenges and support student engagement.
- Provide instructional assistance through the virtual learning platform and in-person classes as needed.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion.
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and community members at all times.
- Use proper phone etiquette, including speaking clearly, taking accurate messages, and routing calls appropriately.
- Demonstrate superior customer service through positive body language, tone, and a commitment to "going the extra mile."
- Respond to requests for information promptly and accurately.
- Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment for all internal and external customers.
