Primary Purpose:

Provide curriculum leadership and support classroom teaching to ensure an aligned and articulated instructional program.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

Teaching Certification as required by the Texas Education Agency
Master's degree preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Curriculum Implementation
Knowledge of Curriculum Vertical Alignment
Other preparation and skills as may be deemed necessary to fulfill all responsibilities of the positions
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
Teaching experience in a primary classroom.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing professional goals.
2. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
3. Engages in modeling, teaching, and demonstrates instructional strategies that are effective with primary students.
4. Assist in data collection and interpretation.
5. Work with the campus administrative team to establish and maintain challenging academic standards.
6. Interprets and applies research to improve student performance.
7. Model how to develop lesson plans that incorporate ELPS and differentiated instruction.
8. Plan and provide staff development, including sessions on instructional methods that are effective for primary students.
9. Plan and conduct parent meetings and training sessions for campus families.
10. Possesses and utilizes leadership skills and cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
11. Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both academic and behavioral progress of all students.
12. Provide professional communication with community members, staff, and other professionals at all times. 13. Provide professional communication with district staff at all times.
14. All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff, and other professionals at all times
Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route them to the appropriate staff.
Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.
Ensure all requests for information are addressed within an appropriate timeframe.
Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including a personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of the mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment:
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
