As the Speech Therapist in Home Health, you will assess and evaluate patients’ needs related to speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. Based on these assessments, you’ll collaborate with physicians and other health‑care team members to develop and implement a comprehensive treatment plan, deliver interventions, and evaluate patient progress.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws and in accordance with the patient plan of care.
- Evaluate the patient’s level of function using diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests and assist the physician in developing the therapy plan.
- Treat patients to communicate effectively and express thoughts appropriately based on the patient’s condition.
- Observe, record, and report the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in condition to the supervising nurse and/or physician.
- Instruct the patient, family, caregiver, and other team members on speech therapy techniques they can use.
- Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation or access to public transportation.
The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full‑time employment.
