Compensation: $50,074 annually while working toward licensure | $61,285 annually when fully licensed
Work Schedule: Monday
- Friday, generally 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m.; flexibility required based on program and crisis service needs

About the Role

Burke is seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT). This position provides clinical services, including advanced individual and group therapy, to children, adolescents, and adults enrolled in YCOT services.

The YCOT Therapist works closely with other YCOT providers and multidisciplinary clinical teams to respond to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. Responsibilities include completing diagnostic evaluations, developing comprehensive treatment plans, conducting emergency and mental health assessments, and coordinating clinical services.

This position also provides education and outreach to community partners, including law enforcement, schools, psychiatric hospitals, emergency detention services, and the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). The position reports to the YCOT Clinical Coordinator and Crisis Services Director and may be based at Burke's Lufkin or Nacogdoches clinic.

What You'll Do
  • Provide individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults enrolled in YCOT services.
  • Complete diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Conduct and facilitate emergency and mental health assessments.
  • Monitor clinical admission and discharge criteria.
  • Authorize and oversee intervention and case management services.
  • Work closely with YCOT providers and multidisciplinary treatment teams during behavioral health crises.
  • Assist Clinical Coordinators with clinical service delivery.
  • Provide education and outreach to community partners, including law enforcement, schools, psychiatric hospitals, emergency detention services, and DFPS.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide clinical consultation as needed.
  • Provide contract therapy services as assigned.
  • Review and analyze clinical reports and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Provide occasional supervision and support to multidisciplinary treatment team members as assigned.
  • Travel throughout Burke's 11-county service area as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the YCOT Clinical Coordinator or Crisis Services Director.
What You Need Required
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC Associate), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT Associate), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) actively working toward LCSW licensure. Candidates awaiting eligibility to apply for licensure while obtaining required supervision will also be considered.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in crisis situations.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout Burke's service area and participate in the required weekend rotation.
Preferred
  • One (1) year of full-time clinical or direct care experience working with adults, children, adolescents, or families in a community mental health, behavioral health, or healthcare setting.
  • Full Texas licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Experience providing crisis intervention or behavioral health services to children and adolescents.
  • Experience collaborating with community partners, schools, law enforcement, hospitals, or child welfare agencies.
Work Schedule

Monday
- Friday, generally 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m. Flexibility is required based on program and crisis service needs. Weekend rotation is required, generally every seventh weekend, as part of the 40-hour workweek. Travel throughout Burke's 11-county service area is required as needed.
