The Human Resources Generalist serves to support the function of the Human Resources department s role assists with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll coordination, and employee relations while ensuring HR processes align with UBank’s values and culture. The HR Generalist plays a key role in fostering positive employee experience and maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws and internal policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist departments with full‑cycle recruiting efforts, including job postings, applicant tracking, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and supporting hiring decisions for front line employees.
  • Facilitate the hiring and onboarding process, including offer letters, background checks, employment eligibility verification, and new‑hire orientation.
  • Provide redundancy in payroll processing by collecting, reviewing, and submitting payroll data; coordinating with payroll providers; and resolving payroll‑related employee questions.
  • Administer routine HR tasks related to employee records, personnel files, and HR systems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding basic HR questions, referring sensitive or complex matters to the CHRO.
  • Provides support to the HR Department with benefits administration, leave tracking, and employee status changes.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and activities that reinforce UBank’s culture and values.
  • Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
  • Assist with training coordination, HR reporting, and documentation as needed.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and inclusive workplace environment.
  • Perform other HR‑related duties and projects assigned by the CHRO.

  • Stronger than average technical skills.
  • Ability to travel when needed for occasional overnight stays in other markets.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • One to three years of progressive experience in human resources support.
  • Experience supporting day‑to‑day HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee record management, and HR compliance activities.
  • Prior exposure to payroll processing or payroll coordination is preferred, including data preparation, timekeeping review, or working with third‑party payroll providers.
  • Experience assisting senior leadership or an HR leader (such as a CHRO or HR Director) is strongly preferred, with demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience using HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required; ability to quickly learn new systems essential.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR) is a plus
    but not required.
  • Experience contributing to employee engagement or workplace culture initiatives is preferred, with an understanding of the importance of maintaining and strengthening organizational culture.
