Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Lufkin, TX

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays required

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit operating under a virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing model
• Manage a patient assignment at a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and general med/surg telemetry conditions
• Read and interpret telemetry strips; telemetry monitor techs are present on the unit but RNs are required to independently read strips
• Manage and monitor patients requiring respiratory support including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Float to all med/surg units as needed
• Adhere to manager-assigned scheduling; block scheduling is not available

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to work a manager-assigned schedule including every other weekend and required holidays

• Prior experience caring for patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen
• Familiarity with a virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing model
• Experience working in a float or multi-unit med/surg environment

• Work alongside a supportive team that includes Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, Nurse Educators, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Join a structured, well-resourced unit with completed department orientation provided upon start
