This role requires a team player who is dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients. The unit has a capacity of 25 beds with patient-to-nurse ratios of 5-6:1. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. RNs are expected to read telemetry strips, although monitoring is primarily done by Tele/Monitor Techs. Charge Nurses and House Supervisors, as well as Nurse Educators, are available to support the staff.
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are present on the unit to assist with care. RNs may float to all medical/surgical units and possibly to the progressive care unit for telemetry holds prior to transfer. Shifts are scheduled based on the needs of the facility, and block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Travelers are required to work every other weekend and holidays. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled within a 13-week assignment.
The charting system in use is transitioning to a new platform later in the year.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 18+ months of recent Med/Tele experience, great communication and time management skills, rural hospital experience preferred.
