Licensed Vocational Nurse
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing services to adult and adolescent patients at the Angelina Mental Health Clinic. This position supports the delivery of quality behavioral healthcare through medication management, nursing assessments, patient education, documentation, and coordination of nursing services.
Travel to other clinic locations, including satellite clinics in Newton, San Augustine, Livingston, and Crockett, may be required. The LVN works closely with patients and other members of the treatment team and must demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities- Administer and track injections and maintain accurate medication records.
- Track laboratory results and complete nursing assessments and AIMS tests.
- Complete medication consents and prescription refill requests.
- Oversee the indigent medication program.
- Complete insurance prior authorizations.
- Respond to patient questions by telephone.
- Operate telemedicine equipment as needed.
- Maintain medication inventory.
- Provide patient education related to medications and nursing care.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Travel to other clinic locations as needed.
- Perform other nursing-related duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Texas license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
- Knowledge of current nursing practices and principles specific to the age groups served.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training.
- One (1) year of experience working with individuals with mental illness in an inpatient or community setting.

- Ability to walk, bend, and kneel as required.
- Ability to drive a vehicle as required for job responsibilities.
- Hand and finger dexterity sufficient to perform required nursing and documentation duties.
