Position OverviewThe Manager in Training (MIT) works with the store manager and teams to achieve sales goals, drive a customer-focused environment, manage talent and performance, and execute visual standards. MIT participates in a training program that prepares them for a store manager position within 3–6 months and is expected to relocate to a specific store or group of stores.
Responsibilities- Customer Obsession
:
Drive and achieve a customer-focused environment, demonstrate fashion expertise, and use customer service training resources to influence decisions. - Driving Sales
:
Manage sales goals using performance reports, adjust plans, oversee payroll hours, assess business needs for scheduling, and direct sales programs. - Talent Management
:
Make hiring decisions, develop successors, provide positive and corrective feedback, coach associates, and create a rewarding working climate. - Operational Execution
:
Maintain store safety and inventory loss controls, execute company direction (POS, visual, HR, operations), enforce policies, and respond to violations.
- High School Diploma or GED required; a business or retail merchandising degree preferred.
- Supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment; fashion industry experience is a plus.
- Proven track record of achieving goals and executing company direction.
- Experience hiring, promoting, and motivating talent.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Professionalism, diligence, and perseverance in the face of setbacks.
- Commitment to a specific store location or group of stores.
Work varied hours/days as business dictates. Able to reach, push, pull, stand, squat and bend for up to 8 hours; operate all store equipment, computerized register system, and move merchandise up to 50 pounds.
