Role Description

The Assistant in Training is a full-time, on-site role based in Lufkin, TX, focused on learning and supporting all aspects of store operations. This role assists store leadership with guest service, sales floor activities, merchandising, and maintaining store appearance to ensure an inviting shopping environment. The Assistant in Training helps with fitting room and register support, stocking and organizing inventory, and executing visual merchandising directives.

This position also participates in training to develop leadership skills, supports team communication, and helps promote Buckle’s mission and guest-focused culture.

Qualifications
  • Guest service and sales skills, including the ability to engage guests, understand their needs, and provide a positive shopping experience.
  • Retail operations skills such as cash handling, inventory stocking, and basic merchandising or visual presentation.
  • Communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with store teammates and follow direction from leaders.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks, maintain a clean and orderly store environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to changing priorities, and participate actively in training and development programs.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Previous retail or customer-facing experience is helpful but not required; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
