Mechanical Tradesperson

West Fraser is seeking a skilled Mechanical Tradesperson (Millwright) to join our Engineering & Maintenance team in our manufacturing operation. In this role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair state-of-the-art milling and wood products equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. You will perform preventive maintenance, mechanical installations, alignments, and fabrication while following strict safety and environmental standards. Working within a collaborative team, you'll support continuous improvement initiatives that reflect West Fraser's values of respect, integrity, openness, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on milling and manufacturing equipment
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery
• Install, align, and commission mechanical systems, conveyors, and rotating equipment
• Fabricate, weld, and modify components to improve equipment reliability
• Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals to plan repairs
• Collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance to optimize uptime and safety
• Document work performed using maintenance systems and follow safety procedures
• Support continuous improvement, housekeeping, and environmental initiatives
