Sawmill Maintenance Technician

West Fraser is seeking a Sawmill Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering & Maintenance team in a modern manufacturing environment. As a Millwright-focused technician, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair state-of-the-art sawmill and material-handling equipment to maximize uptime and safety. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, alignment, and basic electrical troubleshooting. You'll collaborate with a skilled team in a safety-first culture that values respect, integrity, openness, environmental sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repair on sawmill production equipment to maximize uptime
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on state-of-the-art milling machinery
• Fabricate, weld, and align components to millwright standards
• Collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and safety
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures in line with West Fraser's standards
• Document work performed and communicate equipment status to supervisors and operators
