Journeyman Millwright

West Fraser is seeking a Journeyman Millwright to join our Skilled Labor team in a modern manufacturing environment. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair state-of-the-art milling and wood-processing equipment to support safe, reliable production. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform precision alignments, welding and fabrication, and execute preventive maintenance. Working in a safety-focused, team-based culture that values respect, integrity, openness, and environmental responsibility, you will help optimize equipment uptime and contribute to continuous improvement in our integrated wood products operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on milling and wood-processing equipment
• Install, align, and repair motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and rotating equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures to minimize downtime
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals
• Execute welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as required
• Follow strict safety, lockout/tagout, and environmental procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support reliability improvements
• Collaborate with production and engineering to optimize equipment performance
