Schedule
: 6:45pm to 7:00am. Hours alternate weekly between 36 hours and 48 hours. You might train on days which is 6:45am – 7:00pm.
Pay Rate
: $18.00 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift differential.

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Technician for a leading fiber optic cable manufacturing facility to perform physical, optical, and environmental testing of raw material and finished products in accordance with Bellcore and ICEA documents and Fiber Optic Test Procedures (FOTPs).
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Technician will perform optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and electrical testing of finished products to support product release, safety compliance, and requalification of existing products. This person will generate company documentation from data collected during material testing and will administer the disposition database, including daily filing of dispositions and generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by engineering and quality functions.
They will assist with disposition data analysis using Microsoft Excel and Access as requested by engineering and quality assurance.
This role also includes administering document control procedures, issuing notifications of updates to documents and process changes as required by procedure, and performing periodic audits of controlled books and master files, both hard copy and electronic, to ensure compliance with current documented procedures. The technician will generate certificates of compliance and optical test reports as needed for shipping or customers and will provide support for private label OEM customer shipments.
Additional responsibilities include performing final shipping audits, performing receiving inspections of raw and in-process material and documenting results in SAP, and handling the receipt and initial processing of incoming raw fiber. The technician must obtain or already hold a company Forklift Operator Certification, must cross train and be able to function as a QA Inspector including all associated responsibilities, and will assist the lead in developing or revising product test procedures according to applicable industry standards.
Other duties within Quality Engineering may be assigned to meet organizational objectives, including working hours that accommodate shipping schedules.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. A bachelor's degree or five or more years of experience and knowledge in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Previous work experience in an ISO 9001 or TL 9000 quality system is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
