Automotive Mechanic​/Technician

1st Choice Towing & Recovery is looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team. This position is primarily shop-based and is separate from our diesel/service truck technician position.

We are looking for someone who can confidently diagnose and repair cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, and light-duty vehicles and who takes pride in doing the job correctly.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues

• Perform brake repairs

• Steering and suspension repairs

• Tune-ups and general maintenance

• Oil changes and fluid services

• Cooling system repairs

• Battery, starter, and alternator diagnosis/replacement

• Check engine light and drivability diagnostics

• A/C and heating repairs, if experienced

• Engine repairs and component replacement

• Preventive maintenance

• Vehicle inspections

• Use diagnostic/scanning equipment

• Properly document repairs performed

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Communicate with management regarding additional repairs or safety concerns discovered during inspection

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous automotive repair experience

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability

• Able to work independently without needing constant supervision

• Must have your own basic hand tools

• Ability to accurately diagnose problems instead of simply replacing parts

• Dependable and punctual

• Good communication skills

• Willingness to work as part of a team

• Valid driver's license

• Must be able to safely operate customer vehicles

Preferred, but not required:

• ASE certifications

• State inspection license

• A/C experience

• Electrical diagnostic experience

• Experience with multiple makes and models

Pay: Competitive pay based on experience, automotive knowledge, skill level, and applicable certifications. Candidates with advanced diagnostic skills and relevant certifications may qualify for higher starting pay.
