Forklift Operator​/Load Builder

Contract Lumber is seeking a safety-focused Forklift Operator/Load Builder to support our wholesale building materials yard. In this role, you will safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, stage and build accurate lumber and component loads, and move materials throughout the yard. You'll read and interpret load sheets, verify counts, inspect products for damage, and secure loads for transport. You'll work closely with drivers, dispatch, and yard teams to meet delivery schedules while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work area in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and trailers
• Build, stage, and verify accurate lumber and component loads per load sheets
• Move, stack, and organize materials throughout the yard to support operations
• Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies or safety issues
• Secure loads with proper strapping and wrapping to ensure safe transport
• Support drivers and dispatch with timely loading to meet delivery schedules
• Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and equipment procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized yard and work area
• Assist with basic inventory counts and material verification
• Collaborate with yard and operations teams to resolve load or material issues
