ResponsibilitiesThis Special Education Teacher leads a program at a public elementary school supporting students with behavioral challenges who are included in general education classrooms. The teacher collaborates with para educators to provide in-class support and also works with students in small pull‑out sessions to help them regulate and successfully return to the classroom.
Qualifications- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) certification
- Eligible to teach in MA through DESE
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred - Experience designing & delivering individualized instruction for students with disabilities
- Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development
- Experience supervising classrooms with support staff (paras)
- Familiarity with MCASAlt. assessments
- Comfort with students in behavioral/social emotional programs and life skills/developmental delay programs
