Teacher. Special Education (ACHIEVE Program) Job Description
Thank you for considering employment in the Lunenburg Public Schools. There is an open Special Education Teacher position at the Turkey Hill Elementary School in one of our substantially separate classroom. Turkey Hill Elementary School 129 Northfield Road, Lunenburg, MA 01462. The successful candidate will have the knowledge/skills/ability to work collaboratively with school personnel in providing, implementing, designing and/or adapting instruction while also creating, supervising and running individual programs for students in a small group setting.
A primary focus of this position will be the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for students while considering the background and developmental level of the individual student, and helping to transition them from the smaller group environment into mainstreamed settings as much as possible.
- Experience with ABA programming recommended.
- Appropriate Massachusetts Educator License required.
- Attendance at the New Teacher Orientation/Induction is required.
- Three years of teaching experience, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with administration and team members.
- Strong communications skills; verbal and non-verbal.
- Salary and benefits per Lunenburg Education Association contract.
- Hiring is subject to satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Checks per 603 CMR 51.
