Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Discipline Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School (Lutz, FL)Position Summary
The Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Discipline at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School serves as a key member of the school’s leadership team, supporting the Principal in fostering a faith-filled, academically excellent environment. This role is responsible for advancing curriculum and instructional practices, supporting teacher growth, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and orderly school climate grounded in Catholic values.

- Uphold and promote the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church in all aspects of school life
- Support the integration of faith across the curriculum and school culture
- Model Gospel values in word and action
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous, standards-based curriculum
- Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels (K–8)
- Support teachers in the effective use of instructional best practices and differentiation
- Facilitate data-driven instruction through analysis of assessments and student performance
- Coordinate curriculum review cycles and instructional initiatives
- Stay current on educational trends and integrate innovative practices
- Support teacher supervision, evaluation, and coaching in collaboration with the Principal
- Provide ongoing feedback to improve instructional effectiveness
- Plan and lead professional development aligned with school goals
- Mentor new teachers and support continuous growth for all faculty
- Oversee student discipline in alignment with school policies and Catholic values
- Promote restorative practices that emphasize accountability, reconciliation, and growth
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and safe school environment
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to address behavioral concerns
- Track and analyze discipline data to improve school-wide practices
- Assist in the daily operation of the school, including supervision, scheduling, and special events
- Support accreditation processes and school improvement planning
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to support student success
- Serve as acting principal in the absence of the Principal
- Practicing Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field
- Valid state certification in Educational Leadership/Administration
- Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience (K–8 preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development and instructional coaching
- Strong background in student discipline and behavior management
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with data analysis and instructional technology integration
- Familiarity with accreditation processes and school improvement planning
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Level 2 background screening and safe environment training (as required by diocesan policy)
