Summary

The Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection Field Service Technicians (FST) are required to provide World Class support to our customers through start-ups, audits, maintenance, repair, and training of Safeline X-Ray, Safeline Metal Detectors, Hi-Speed Checkweighers, or CI Vision machines. FSTs are responsible for managing all aspects of field service support including communications between customers and the service department, effective scheduling, detailed preparation of written reports and documentation, and maintenance of job assignments, while following MT PI procedures and best practices.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Satisfy all Safety Requirements for both MT-PI and Customer Sites
  • Attend tier calls led by a Regional Service Manager
  • Efficiently execute scheduled service calls as directed from Dispatch or Management while considering cost, time, and customer needs
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships; become the customer's trusted advisor
  • Identify root causes of service issues (first time fix)
  • Accurately complete and submit all service reports and documentation per service activity, timesheets, and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Keep up with ongoing technical training
  • Weekend/after hours work as required based on workload and rotation
  • Maintain company supplied equipment, tools, and inventory
  • Follow the Code of Conduct
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Work diligently and professionally toward department and company goals

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment with flexibility
  • Self-starter with initiative to take corrective actions
  • Strong time-management and deadline adherence
  • Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service oriented; ability to interface professionally with other departments
  • Proficiency with hand tools, digital test equipment, mechanics, electronics, and distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS; ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English;
    Spanish a plus
  • Trained or in training in one of the major areas (MD, XR, CW, VI, ProdX) – refer to policy
  • Meets or exceeds GPM expectations in all categories
Travel
  • 100% US and occasional international travel is required; frequent overnight travel is common
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport
  • Must have a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and be able to rent vehicles
  • Overtime may be needed based on business needs
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts and in varying environmental conditions
  • Physical ability to lift and move tools/equipment up to 75 pounds
  • Occasional climbing of stairs and ladders; frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Work in tight and/or dark spaces; frequent travel by car or plane
  • Occasional shift differences and long days as needed
