Overview
We’re seeking a part-time Dog Groomer (Trimmer) to support our growing haircut business at our Scenthound franchise location. This role is ideal for a groomer who enjoys beautiful, simple, and functional haircuts, works efficiently, and thrives in a team-focused, ego-free environment.
At Scenthound, grooming is about health, safety, and consistency—not breed-specific styling. Our trims are clean, polished, and practical, allowing dogs to feel comfortable while maintaining a high standard of care.
About the PositionPart-time role: 15–25 hours per week
Focused exclusively on puppy cuts (one-length all over with a neat face) and functional trims
Our Dog Groomer (Trimmer) is a key part of the Scenter team, providing safe, efficient grooming services while supporting overall operations
What You’ll Do- Perform functional, one-length puppy cuts that are clean, consistent, and well-executed to our Scenthound standards
- Complete haircuts safely and confidently within 1 hour per dog
- Handle a high-volume schedule (approximately haircuts per day)
- Perform basic hygiene services as needed
- Maintain a safe, calm environment for dogs of all temperaments
- Support teammates to keep the Scenter running on schedule
- Follow all Scenthound safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols
- Communicate effectively with team members and dog parents
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Scenter Manager
- 1+ year of grooming experience or graduation from a grooming school
- Must be reliable and have reliable transportation
- Experience with puppy cuts and comfort following established protocols
- Knowledge of dog handling, grooming tools, and basic breed characteristics
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work efficiently without rushing
- Calm, patient, and compassionate with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Team-oriented, coachable, and willing to help where needed
- No ego — we value collaboration, consistency, and care above all else
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods
