• Lead the Sales Associate team, encouraging cross‑team collaboration and setting performance standards.
• Assist customers and drive sales, service, and customer experience initiatives to achieve sales, KPIs, and store performance goals.
• Prioritize, assign, and delegate daily goals and assignments to associate team; ensure completion when manager on duty.
• Maintain professionalism and a positive workplace attitude in all verbal, written, and electronic communications.
• Partner with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and develop mutually beneficial relationships with rescue agencies.
• Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean store environment; clean pet enclosures and ensure animals receive appropriate food and water.
• Support operations: restock merchandise, move products from stockroom to sales floor, and assist with fish system maintenance.
• Perform inventory tasks, ensuring accurate physical inventories, counts, and shrink goals.
• Carry out store opening and closing procedures and communicate concerns to management.
• Support new hire training and merchandising guidelines, and assist with community events.
• Perform other duties assigned by store management.

• Minimum 1 year of retail or customer service experience.
• Experience working with animals.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle preferred.

Heavy lifting up to 55 lbs may be required several times during a shift. Most tasks involve standing, moving around the sales floor, and actively listening and observing while merchandising. Potential hazards include slips, trips, falls, strains, sprains, and accidental injuries from pets.
