Join a team that’s not just maintaining homes but shaping the future of housing compliance and renewable technology. If you’re passionate about electrical work and want to stay ahead of industry advancements, this is your opportunity.

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Electrician to join our friendly and professional in‑house workforce. You will have experience in cyclical electrical testing and reactive repairs. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety.

You’ll bring a proven track record of carrying out cyclical electrical testing and reactive repairs to ensure our housing stock of over 5,000 properties is safe and kept in line with the decent home’s standards. Your work is scheduled for you and jobs are shared with you via an electronic handheld device (your PDA) so you’ll be comfortable using technology and IT systems.

Are you looking to expand your knowledge in greener energy products?

We are introducing new low‑carbon technologies to achieve net zero carbon emissions across our housing stock. This target means we are re‑training our workforce to deliver and install modern cleaner and greener energy products like air‑source heat pumps and PV into our properties. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in servicing and installing these new technologies.

About you

You will have completed an appropriate level of training and undertaken an electrical installation apprenticeship along with a minimum of 3 years industry experience in domestic fault diagnosis and repairs and be highly skilled and experienced in all aspects of the electrical trade. In addition, you will have undertaken and hold the following assessments:

  • City & Guilds 2357 (NVQ Level
    3) in Electro Technical Technology or current equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations, or current equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations with subsequent amendments.
What is in it for you
  • Salary: £40,174-£43,236 per annum depending on experience and qualifications (up to £44,472 for exceptional performance once in post).
  • 27 days annual leave (plus an additional 5 days after 5 years local government service).
  • Local Government Pension Scheme and AVC Provision.
  • Hand‑tool allowances (paid over 12 months).
  • Company van (ability to drive to and from home).
  • Power tools and electrical testing equipment provided.
  • Wide range of employee discounts at high‑street retailers, including supermarkets, stores, and restaurants.
  • A cycle‑to‑work scheme which could save you around 40% on cycles and accessories.
