Job Summary
Jerry Falwell Library Student Worker Assistant will work independently, exercising good judgment and discretion in interactions with library staff and customers. They will support one or more departments within the Jerry Falwell Library.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesConduct themselves as a professional: be on time, reliable for scheduled hours, adhere to the library dress code, and follow instructions.
Communicate clearly, including responding to emails in a timely manner, answering the phones, and alerting the supervisor to changes in schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and library administration.
Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the University in an exemplary manner.
Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Customer Service AssistantDeliver excellent customer service by answering basic directional, research, and technology-related questions from library customers. Maintain a vigilant posture while staffing service desks.
Provide research assistance to customers in locating library resources using basic databases, electronic books, and computer searching techniques.
Give basic technology assistance by troubleshooting computers, answering printer questions, and keeping printer paper stocked.
Complete hourly counts, provide directions, and maintain a clean and clutter-free environment conducive to study.
Support customers who may need assistance.
Qualifications and CredentialsEducation:
Current student in good academic standing.
Federal Work Study approved preferred.
Preferred qualifications:
GPA 3.0 or above; one year of college education; previous customer service experience; second language proficiency; knowledge of Library of Congress classification and call number system.

Environment: climate-controlled, well lighted, moderate noise, may facilitate outdoor events.
Work Hours and LocationPart-time, 12–18 hours per week, willing to work mornings and occasional special events.
