LU Send Social Media & Promotions Student Worker
Support the full-time staff of the Office of Spiritual Development by completing professional administrative tasks to enhance and fulfill the department outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Create content and manage department social media platforms including planning, developing, scheduling and posting innovative and engaging content aligned with University brand standards.
- Be available outside of normal office hours to attend, promote, and cover events for department, including but not limited to taking pictures and videos.
- Work with supervisor(s) to create a digital marketing plan and social media strategy for department programs and promotional events.
- Work with supervisor(s) to create and maintain a social media calendar to ensure content delivery in a timely manner.
- Collaborate and assist with social media needs within the team and/or various departments.
- Understand and competently utilize the social media software Canva and Adobe Creative Suite and other professional tools.
- Assist Promotions and Communications staff with various office tasks and other administrative duties.
- Professionally serve external and internal customers, such as greeting visitors in the office and responding to inquiries via phone and email.
- Be available to assist the Promotions and Communications team, as needed outside of normal office hours, with on-campus events (Study Abroad Fair, Global Focus Week, Workshops, Trainings, and other promotional tabling.) including but not limited to set up, event participation, tear down, and the reorganization of materials upon completion of event(s).
- Support Promotions and Communications staff with data collection, organization, reports, and presentations.
- Work effectively as a team member of LU Send, embracing and fostering the mission and events of OSD and Liberty University.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and ExperienceComputer knowledge, including MS Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work well independently and as a team member
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Communication and ComprehensionAbility to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
Strong organizational skills.
Computer skills, especially Microsoft office; ability to learn new skills quickly.

- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
Regularly lift 25 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Driving RequirementsIf the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.
