Office Administrator/ Coordinator
Providing secretarial, administrative, and scheduling support for aDepartment in the College of Arts and Sciences, as assigned by the Chair. Monitor budget, supervise student workers, order supplies,and other clerical tasks. Plan and coordinate department events andupdate department social media pages. Other administrative and secretarial tasks as needed. Support College of Arts and Sciencesinitiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe role of the CAS Administrative Assistant PT may include anynumber of the following general responsibilities:
Liberty University’s mission.
- Schedule and supervise the student workers in the department as they assist with social media posting, department events, and other tasks as assigned.
- Delegate weekly tasks and provide clear instructions (written and verbal) detailing assigned tasks and expectations.
- Approve student worker hours in the Workday system on a weekly basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Computer experience required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills, well-organized, and desire to workwith students.
- Well-developed communication skills are essential.
- Self-starter; works well without direct supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree, with experience in a high-volume office setting.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingto convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order toconvey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professionalrepresentation of Liberty University to a variety of business,government and community customers and associates.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer and scheduling skills.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, andapply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
- Required to travel to local and campus locations.
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on akeyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order toconduct business.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well-lit and the noise level is moderate. Workingenvironment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
Driving RequirementsUse of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required fortravel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptableDMV record, and liability insurance is required to be an approveddriver, as needed.
