Support the full-time staff of the Office of Spiritual Development by completing professional administrative tasks to enhance and fulfill the department outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create content and manage LU Serve social media platforms including planning, developing, scheduling, and posting innovative and engaging content aligned with brand standards.
  • Be available outside of normal office hours to attend, promote, and cover events for LU Serve including, but not limited to, taking pictures and videos.
  • Work with Associate Director of Development to create a digital marketing plan and social media strategy for LU Serve.
  • Create and maintain a social media calendar to ensure content delivery in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and assist with social media needs within the team and/or various departments.
  • Assist Administrative Assistant with various office tasks and other administrative duties.
  • Understand and utilize the social media softwares Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • As directed, assist with logistic planning and preparation and execution of LU Serve events (e.g., Local Church Emphasis Day, CSER Expo, Serve Lynchburg, etc.).
  • Assist the Development team with tracking engagement metrics for digital campaigns and reporting outcomes.
  • Schedule requires student worker to commit 16-20 hours/week.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
  • Computer knowledge, including MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Work well independently and as a team member
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Communication and Comprehension
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, especially Microsoft office; ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Problem Solving:
    Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 25 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements
  • If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.
Time Type Part time
  • Location Onsite Pay Rate Starting at $12.77 Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.
