Position: Practicum Coordinator II for Nursing

Works independently, exercising good judgment and discretion while providing practicum and clinical placement support to the MSN,APRN, and DNP programs within the School of Nursing (SON).Interfaces with students and preceptors to maintain practicumtracking and data reporting for compliance of all doctoral-levelnursing students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists students in securing sites and preceptors for completion of practicum.
  • Sub-Administrator of clinical placement databases.
  • Work with students, the Director of Accreditation and State/National Compliance, and programmatic Chairs to ensure contracts meet University regulations, student needs, and requirements of the SON.
  • Verifies preceptor credentials, professional licenses, and qualifications.
  • Works closely with programmatic Field Director in preceptoronboarding
  • Work with preceptors to complete requirements for becomingcompliant with SON policy and State regulations.
  • Verify student compliance with Castle Branch databases. This includes but is not limited to verification of background check,drug screen, FBI fingerprinting, immunizations, CPR and all other requirements including HIPAA and OSHA education. Also required toensure compliance of all students with practicum site requirements and Liberty University SON are met.
  • Maintains database to generate reports each semester on Student Placement.
  • Maintain spreadsheets of practicum hours required/completed foreach student in doctoral-level programs and send weekly reports to programmatic Field Director or programmatic Chair.
  • Attends department meetings that support graduate and doctoral programs.
  • Provide support to special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience
  • Four-year college degree, concentration in business or another related field.
  • Strong business experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to comprehend and provide solutions to complex processes.
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills required.
  • Preferred experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and excellent public relations skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office Products.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingto convey clear, well-articulated information.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order toconduct business.
  • May be required to travel to meet with site administrator and/or preceptors and evaluate opportunities for studentplacement.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle with unrestricted Virginia driver’s license and eligibility to become an approved Liberty University driver.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds
