Summary / ObjectiveManages day-to-day operations of crews on assigned electrical projects. Provides guidance and direction to crews in meeting the budgets and schedule dates on each project. Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every stage. Builds strong relationships with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is a working foreman, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks.
EssentialFunctions
- Plans for and supervises field crew and electrical activities, including determining method of construction, manpower levels, daily footage installed, material quantities, and documenting actual hours worked
- Coordinates assigned work with other trades, company departments, or other contractors while maintaining schedule and production
- Directs on-site team to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule
- Performs a wide range of skilled construction tasks
- Serves as liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, testing, Engineering) to ensure materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule
- Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve methods
- Assists in resolving construction problems (e.g., lack of productivity, work interfaces)
- Monitors craft compliance with project safety program requirements; documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented
- Strong equipment setting capabilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility: Yes
Required- 5 - 7 years electrical experience in commercial construction and/or multifamily construction, or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Ability to supervise and direct a team of 10+ workers on a day-to-day basis
- Extensive knowledge of all types of electrical codes and standards
- Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience
- Knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, and workforce planning
- Understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to supervise large groups
- Strong ability to create prefab drawings, shop tickets, and QC VDC drawings
- Ability to read, interpret, and work to design drawings, design guides, specifications, and contract documents; site coordination of subcontractors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to construction team, clients, and others
- Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and solve problems
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures
- Ability to report to multiple job sites as assigned
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
Work Environment: May include varying temperatures, inside/outside work, exposure to inclement weather, noise, fumes or airborne particles, and confined spaces or high heights.
Physical Demands: Regular use of construction equipment and tools; ability to climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs; color vision and depth perception required.
Travel- May require travel (typically not overnight)
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent
- OSHA 30 certified
- First Aid / CPR certified
- Prior military experience
