Overview
Health Drive is seeking a Registered Mobile Dental Assistant with Radiology Certificate to work full-time, 4 days per week in our Lynchburg/Roanoke, VA market.
Health Drive Dental Assistants have the opportunity for $23-$25/HR compensation packages.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Dentist Assistant with Health Drive, you will assist Dentists in performing assigned clinical and non-clinical duties for residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities. Current opportunities cover the Lynchburg, Roanoke, Charlottesville, Farmville, VA and surrounding areas.
- Prepares patients for dental procedures.
- Assists Dentist during dental procedures.
- Sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays and prepares materials.
- Records treatment information in patient records.
- Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
- Assists dentist in the management of medical or dental emergencies.
- Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
- Cleans and polishes removable appliances.
- Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
- Operates X-ray equipment only if holding a valid Radiology Certificate (see Qualifications).
- Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis.
- Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
- Self-starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
Education and Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED.
- Previous experience and/or externship experience required.
- Must possess a current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential) to operate X-ray equipment; certificate must be verifiable at the start of each shift.
- Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
- Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs.
- Facility:
Nursing Home or Assisted Living Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted and Independent Care Facilities, and Continuing Care Retirement Centers. - Facility Layout:
Hallways, ramps, elevators, swinging doors, stairs. - Equipment:
Mobile chairs and mobile beds at the facilities.
- Must be able to adhere to work schedule set by Dentist.
- This is a daily travel position based on patient care requirements for the specified service area.
