Department: Early Learning Center
Reports To: Director of the Early Learning Center
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
MISSION: Liberty Christian Academy exists to support parents and guardians in their biblical responsibility to nurture and train their children. Thus, LCA provides opportunities which allow students to realize their God-given potential and to live lives that glorify God in the spiritual, academic, social, physical, and vocational realms.
POSITION SUMMARY: Plan, prepare, and implement weekly Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans for assigned classroom
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a Christ-follower
- Four-year college degree encouraged, but not required
- High-school diploma required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Experience in early childhood education environment preferred
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability
- Maintain a Christ-like attitude
- Planning, preparation, and supervision of activities in accordance with established curriculum and Center policy
- Lesson plans submitted by Friday each week for the upcoming week
- Provision for differentiated active, hands-on, authentic learning experiences which allow each child to develop their God-given abilities to their greatest potential
- Planning with assistant teacher to provide shared responsibilities in classroom management and direction
- Organization, arrangement, and maintaining of a clean, orderly, and inviting learning environment
- Maintain and inventory of all equipment, material and supplies assigned to classroom
- Accurately maintain all attendance and behavior records, reporting all necessary information to the office
- Establish open communication with parents and peers, to include weekly emails to families with attached weekly classroom newsletter and emailed monthly classroom calendar, maintain, and share daily pictures/videos with families through closed class Facebook page.
- Maintain up to date anecdotal records and assessments
- Organize and conduct yearly parent/teacher conferences to be held in late January or early February
- Attend and actively participate in monthly team planning meetings
- Attend and participate in any required school functions, occasionally held in the evenings, pertaining to ELC
- Continual personal and professional growth of a minimum of 20 clock hours annually
