Full Time or Part Time: Part Time
Job DescriptionCentral Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two‑year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university‑parallel/college transfer programs.
- Tutor students in approved content area.
- Be prepared for tutoring sessions and engaged.
- Assist students in achieving a better understanding of subject matter.
- Facilitate independent learning skills.
- Communicate effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning student visits.
- Work with individual students and small groups.
- Professional tutors will be proficient in the subject area they wish to tutor.
- Peer tutors will have completed any class that they wish to tutor with at least a
B. - Both must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
