The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track position in the Library for the academic year 2026-27. Salary and rank correspond to experience and educational credentials.
Specific
Job Duties:
- Actively manage the operations, facility, and services for the Access Services Department of the library.
- Serve as liaison to one or more academic schools or departments in the provision of collection development, instruction, and research services.
- Recommend policies, procedures, services, and enhancements to Access Services.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate regular and student staff.
- Work collaboratively and effectively as part of the library team and the University community, keeping current on best practices in policy, instruction, and technology for Access Services.
- Establish and maintain professional and ethical boundaries with students, co-workers, and others in all learning environments.
- Participate in University service and events.
- Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned by the University Librarian.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk, bending, kneeling.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Required Qualifications:
- Three years of academic library experience.
- Supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous scheduling and training experience.
- Familiarity with library software packages:
Alma/Primo, Springshare, OCLC Tipasa.
Education:
ALA accredited Masters of Library/Information Science required.
