Position Summary
  • The Marketing Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction in the Marketing Career and Technical Education program in accordance with Virginia Department of Education standards and Lynchburg City Schools requirements. The position provides students with instruction in marketing principles designed to prepare students for postsecondary education and careers. The primary responsibility of every teacher is to develop, implement, and maintain a competency‑aligned educational program that will teach each student the technical skills and knowledge of their program area, as well as the 21st Century Workplace Readiness Skills for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • Demonstrates long‑range planning and knowledge of the student area.
  • Completes daily written lesson plans which fulfill learning objectives consistent with LCS' curricula and SOLs.
  • Plans for individual student differences.

  • Communicates objective(s) and purpose(s) of lesson.
  • Utilizes various forms of technology to assist in the delivery of instruction.

  • Delivers curriculum and instruction in accordance with school division guidelines.

Education and Experience
  • Candidate must possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with a Marketing Education endorsement or a Collegiate Professional License.
