Overview

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. They model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University and engage in a biblical worldview. Adjuncts teach and support students in the Department of Theatre Arts – specifically Residential Dance courses – ensuring a high standard of scholarly and pedagogical practice.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach dance technique and lecture courses and other dance course assignments as assigned.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, interactive lectures and studio sessions.
  • Use current teaching technology, including Canvas LMS, e‑textbooks, and classroom media systems.
  • Record attendance and grades, and maintain clear, accurate course records.
  • Manage classroom behavior, allocate teaching resources, and facilitate a positive learning environment.
  • Adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the university in an exemplary manner.
  • Work collaboratively with department faculty to support student success.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with 18 hours of graduate dance coursework or an MFA in Dance.
  • Demonstrated experience in undergraduate dance instruction (previous teaching experience preferred).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency with LMS platforms such as Canvas.
  • Ability to employ pedagogical best practices and use varied instructional techniques.
  • Commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
Employment Details

Part‑time; onsite teaching in the Department of Theatre Arts. Eligible for the standard part‑time benefits applicable to adjunct faculty.
