Description

The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, invites applications for a full-time, 12 month, non-tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) program. We seek an engaging educator with expertise in the ethics of artificial intelligence and technology leadership who is passionate about teaching and mentoring doctoral students in an innovative, interdisciplinary leadership program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional service while fostering meaningful student engagement in a dynamic learning environment. The Doctor of Executive Leadership program prepares experienced professionals to become ethical, strategic, and transformative leaders capable of addressing complex organizational and societal challenges. The faculty member will contribute to curriculum development, program growth, and collaborative initiatives while supporting the success of a diverse population of working professionals.

Job

Specific Duties
  • Teach graduate courses in the Doctor of Executive Leadership program
  • Supervise and mentor student research projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Doctor of Executive Leadership department on curriculum development
  • Applying best practices to facilitate online teaching and learning processes and principles with a commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Documenting student learning, interpreting outcomes, and recording grades.
  • Assisting with student recruitment, admission, and retention.
  • Maintaining accurate and appropriate student, instructor, course, and program documentation.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional and ethical boundaries with students, co-workers, and others in all learning environments.
  • Participating in University service and events.
  • Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Dean.

Teaching Load:
The standard teaching load for this 12-month appointment is 30-32 credit hours per year.

Salary:
Salary and academic rank are commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications /

Education:

  • A PhD or EdD with 18 graduate credit hours in Doctor of Executive Leadership, Ethics, Artificial Intelligence, or related field is required; ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Previous teaching experience is desired.
