You will work with the Nondestructive Examinations (NDE) Engineering organization, which designs tooling and complex robotic systems to perform inspections of nuclear plants around the world. This role is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys seeing complex robotic systems built and used each year and who is self-motivated to lead teams and ensure the success of engineering projects. The position supervises a group of electrical design engineers developing, testing and qualifying innovative robotics, tooling, controls, and inspection technology.

As a supervisor you will lead all aspects of the development cycle, from the conceptual stage through detailed specification, design, testing and site implementation. The role provides daily front-line supervision, leadership, and technical support, including planning and scheduling work, mentoring less experienced engineers, providing technical direction, performing technical reviews, assisting with troubleshooting, ensuring high quality drawings and design documentation, adhering to budgets, and leading staff performance appraisals.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
  • Ensure effective performance of engineering assignments.
  • Plan and direct the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned.
  • Ensure projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards.
  • Adhere to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures.
  • Monitor goals, objectives and performance standards for assigned team members.
  • Work interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Research and assess best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
  • Work on special projects as directed and perform other related duties as required.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management and customers as required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills.
  • Advanced level of specific software tools and programming skills.
  • Experience in control system design, analog and digital control.
  • Electronic circuit design utilizing ORCAD schematic capture (or similar).
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware from system level to board level to component level.
  • Motion control experience.
  • FPGA / VHDL programming experience.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $115,000 - $156,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
