Overview
The Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within TPS. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering activities within the facility, ensuring that products are produced to meet quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives. The Engineering Manager collaborates with various departments to improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This role manages programs from initial inception through production to the mutual satisfaction of TPS and the end user. This requires close liaison with the customer and internal resources as well as keeping accurate documentation of situations as they arise. Review data supplied by the customer or sales and determine its completeness for quotation, obtain quotes for tooling and fixturing, accurately estimate the cost for manufacture and appropriate profit margins.
Coordinate the smooth transition of new product introduction from design concept through production.
- Education:
BS/BA degree. - Essential Knowledge:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals and objectives.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and costs.
- Work Experience:
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO standards.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.
- Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances.
