What You’ve Accomplished
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- At least 7 years of directly related experience
- Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria
- Above average communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, emails, presentations, and customer deliverables)
- Ability to Grow Developed networks and maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong advanced problem identification and resolution skills
- Displaying leadership characteristics
- Questioning attitude and practiced self-checking
- Advanced level of Microsoft Office and business unit specific software tools (ex. CAD, FEA, CFD, etc.) and computer programming skills

You may have also acquired the following skills:
- Familiarity with light water reactors and are experienced with the plant system thermal-hydraulic and core response during transients
- Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents
- Display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships
- Customer focus and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a passion for problem solving

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Experienced RELAP Safety Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:
- Performing new or revising existing postulated accident analyses using a Framatome version of RELAP
5. - Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design changes on existing Safety Analyses.
- Contributing to methods development activities in support of new fuel products, customer requirements, or changes in the licensing regulations.
- Contributing to the development of automation and software tools to improve operating efficiency or software capabilities.
- Working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful customer delivery.

Your Total Rewards PackageThe range of base salary for the position is between $112,000 - $152,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
