Mechanical Engineer

Location:

On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.

• Design complex mechanical systems related to facility infrastructure (HVAC, process plumbing, pumps, etc.).
• Review and write technical specifications for facility equipment and buildings.
• Manage projects related to mechanical infrastructure additions, replacements, or modifications.
• Work alongside other facility engineers, contractors, and maintenance groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Two (2) years of experience with industrial/facility infrastructure design and industrial equipment.
• CAD experience (Microstation preferred but not mandatory).
• Demonstrated superior written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Salary:
The base salary range for this position in Virginia is $76,000 to $119,000 per year. The offered salary is based on local market factors and may vary by job candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective considerations. The total compensation package may include additional elements such as an annual cash incentive and comprehensive benefits. Details will be provided with an offer.

If hired, the selected candidate will be employed at-will unless governed by a collective bargaining agreement. BWXT reserves the right to modify base pay and benefits at any time.
