YOUR ROLE
As a Finance team member, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial strength and flexibility that enables us to be there when our policyholders need us – now and in the future.
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Travel and Expense (T&E) Senior Manager to lead and continuously improve our AP and T&E operations. This is a senior manager–level role responsible for overseeing end-to-end payables and employee expense processes, managing a team, and partnering closely with Accounting, Finance, IT and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys building scalable processes, mentoring talent, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a confident, calm leader who brings structure without unnecessary bureaucracy, someone who can zoom out strategically but isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
What you will be doing
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Accounts Payable and Travel and Expense team, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Oversee end-to-end AP processes, invoice intake, coding, approvals, payment execution, vendor maintenance, and reconciliations
- Own T&E reporting and reimbursement processes, including policy compliance and audit readiness
- Evaluate, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Partner with Finance Systems / IT on AP and expense system enhancements, implementations, and integrations
- Leverage automation and best practices to reduce manual work and cycle times
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and document controls to support SOX and internal/external audit requirements
- Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on walkthroughs, testing, and remediation
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
What you bring
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable and/or expense management
- 3+ years of people management experience at a manager or senior manager level
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
- Ability to lead change and improve processes in a complex environment
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience working with ERP and expense management systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, Concur, etc.)
