Program Finance Accounting Analyst
Location:
Lynchburg, VA (Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months (Temp-to-Hire)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Program Finance Accounting Analyst to support a Managed Services finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on financial reporting, forecasting, contract accounting, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage contract setups, renewals, revenue recognition, invoicing, and contract closures.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and financial reports.
- Perform financial forecasting, budget tracking, and variance analysis.
- Reconcile invoices and analyze contract costs versus actuals.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with finance, sales operations, customer service, and program teams.
- Generate ad hoc financial reports and analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Strong accounting knowledge and financial reporting skills.
- Experience with accounting systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of revenue recognition and double-entry accounting.
- Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, or Alteryx.
- Cost variance analysis (Actual vs. Forecast).
- Experience with SAP or Hyperion reporting is a plus.

- Strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on finance experience.
- Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Snowflake, Alteryx).
- Someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- A candidate who can support forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis while meeting strict month-end deadlines.
