The Data Architect – Enterprise Data defines and governs Delta Star’s enterprise data model, ensuring information across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations is accurate, accessible, and ready for AI-driven insight.

This role leads the design of a unified data foundation—spanning Dynamics 365, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, and Azure Data Services—to power analytics, automation, and intelligent forecasting.

The position ensures data is structured, secured, and discoverable across systems, enabling self-service analytics, Copilot experiences, and AI/ML initiatives while maintaining integrity, compliance, and performance standards.

• Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture across operational, analytical, and AI domains.
• Design semantic models and data layers that power enterprise reporting and predictive analytics.
• Standardize naming conventions, relationships, and documentation across Dataverse, Power BI, and Fabric.
• Collaborate with integration and application teams to ensure consistent schemas and reliable data flows.
• Maintain an enterprise data catalog, lineage maps, and metadata repository.

• Establish governance policies for data ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management.
• Implement validation and reconciliation processes to ensure completeness and reliability.
• Define and monitor KPIs for data quality, freshness, and usage through Power BI dashboards.
• Coordinate with functional leaders to resolve data issues and embed preventive process controls.
• Enforce retention, privacy, and compliance standards aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare data for AI integration across Microsoft Copilot, Fabric Real-Time Intelligence, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning environments.
• Build and manage AI-ready data pipelines using Fabric Dataflows Gen2, Synapse ML, and Cognitive Search for semantic indexing and contextual retrieval.
• Partner with business teams to identify predictive and generative AI opportunities (forecasting, anomaly detection, report summarization).
• Define and secure data-access layers for machine learning and Copilot models, ensuring responsible AI principles—security, transparency, and traceability are maintained.
• Collaborate with IT Security and Legal on governance of AI data use and retention.
• Architect and manage ingestion pipelines from ERP, HR, and manufacturing systems (Dynamics 365, Dayforce, Jira, MES, and SCADA).
• Oversee lakehouse architecture in Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse, ensuring consistent ETL and delta refreshes.
• Implement orchestration and automation in Azure Data Factory or Synapse pipelines to support continuous delivery of analytics and AI workloads.
• Optimize Power BI and Fabric datasets for performance, refresh cadence, and role-based access (RLS).
• Align integration and data engineering patterns with the broader enterprise architecture to support automation and AI workloads.
• Evaluate Microsoft Fabric, Azure Machine Learning, and AI Builder enhancements; recommend practical adoption.
• Ensure cost optimization and scalability through proactive monitoring and usage management.

• Implement row-level and role-based security for all certified datasets and AI-ready stores.
• Coordinate with Cybersecurity on encryption, data-loss prevention, and monitoring for AI model inputs/outputs.
