Engineering Lab Assistant - School of Engineering

Position Overview

Student Engineering Lab Assistant responsible for providing support to students, faculty, and staff during lab operation hours. Duties include monitoring lab activities, providing phone and walk‑in support, maintaining equipment and supplies, assisting and setting up laboratory experiments for classes, providing evening support and lab monitoring, maintaining documentation, testing equipment, inventory management, and other lab‑support tasks. The role also requires maintaining a clean, quiet work area for students and faculty.

• Monitor lab activities and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Provide phone coverage and walk‑in support to users.
• Assist in setting up laboratory experiments for classes.
• Provide evening support and lab monitoring.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and lab documentation.
• Perform equipment testing and inventory checks.
• Maintain a clean, quiet work area.

• Residential student at Liberty University.
• Proficient in computer and engineering technology.
• Must be able to work 18 hours per week.
• Critical thinker, technologically savvy, and highly motivated team player.
• Minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Personal faith commitment to the University’s evangelical Christian purpose.

• Students in Computer Science, Engineering, BMIS, or CSIT programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Team focus and ability to follow and lead instructions.
• Christlike attitude and responsibility with minimal supervision.
