Information Services Apprentice

The Apprentice assists in providing a high level of technical support for their assigned business unit. This includes understanding and documenting business processes, reporting and analysis of data, working on projects, improving business processes using available tools, and more.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist the department with technical issues and complete tasks assigned by leadership.
• Help streamline business processes using current or new technology.
• Document business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to supervisors.
• Learn university systems and data sets to accurately extract information.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies:

• Experience using MS Excel and/or Access.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze information, reason, and solve routine and complex problems.
• Strong computer and organizational skills.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license, acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance are required.
