This is a contract, on-site role for a Freelance Interpreter located in Lynchburg, VA. The interpreter will be responsible for providing professional and accurate interpretation services for in-person interactions. Daily tasks include facilitating clear and effective communication between parties who speak different languages in various settings such as legal, medical, educational, and community environments. The interpreter will ensure that their work maintains neutrality, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

• Fluency in at least two languages, both written and spoken, with strong proficiency in interpretation and translation
• Understanding of cultural nuances and ability to maintain sensitivity and professionalism in diverse communication settings
• Ability to work on-site in Lynchburg, VA and adapt to different environments and topics as needed
• Knowledge of terminology in specialized fields such as healthcare, legal, or education is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate clear understanding between parties
• Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion and uphold confidentiality at all times
• Previous experience as an interpreter or completion of interpreter training is advantageous
