* Position Overview:
*
* The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for creating, issuing, and managing purchase orders for materials and services in full compliance with BWXT and government policies. This role involves a comprehensive range of procurement activities, including supplier selection, requesting quotes, performing price analysis, conducting negotiations, and executing purchase orders through post-award management. The Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including subcontracts, supply chain, program, and quality to manage supplier performance, resolve issues promptly, and ensure 100% on-time delivery at planned costs.

** Your Day to Day as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist:*
* + Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for materials and services in compliance with BWXT and government policies and procedures.
+ Select suppliers and request quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
+ Conduct price analysis and negotiations to secure favorable terms.
+ Execute purchase orders and manage post-award activities effectively.
+ Assist in managing supplier performance and relationships and bringing issues to a timely, effective resolution to support 100% on-time delivery at planned costs.
+ Develop and maintain weekly reports tracking requisition processing, purchase order placement, supplier acknowledgement, invoicing, and supplier payments.
+ Perform root cause analysis on delays, quality issues, and cost variances and execute corrective actions with cross-functional support.
+ Collaborate with the subcontracts, supply chain, program, and quality teams to ensure priorities are met and align with customer requirements.
+ Identify and deliver on continuous improvement, efficiency, and cost-out KPI's to meet annual budgetary targets.
** Required
Minimum Qualifications:

* + Bachelor's Degree.
+ At least 7 years of professional experience supporting DOE or DOD programs.
+
Experience with government contracting, including FAR/DFAR requirements, and substantiation of vendor selection and price competitiveness.
+ U.S. Citizenship.
+ Must possess an active DOE "Q" Clearance (or equivalent).

* + Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Accounting, or Engineering.
+ Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with supply chain management tools.
